For those of you who have successfully begun a decorating project and have been unable to finish, encouragement and a stick-to-it attitude are needed. Many times we stop working in a room because we do not know how to finish. You’ve successfully painted walls, hung draperies, rearranged furniture, and purchased and displayed some accessories…but you have empty walls or corners or tables that seem impossible to complete.

1. Make a list of what you perceive is missing.
    A. Do you have enough lighting and is it the right lighting for that space?
    B. Do you have the right fabric on the windows? Are the treatments full enough?
Do they serve the purpose you need them to serve?
    C. Do you have congruency throughout the room? Is one accessory throwing
off the whole room?  Don’t be afraid to remove the item and see if you
        can finish the room now.
    D. You may need to find different places to shop. Different stores provide
different styles and items. You may need to think outside the box to come
        up with the right conclusion.

2. Do you like everything you have finished so far?

3. Do you have so many colors in the room that it is hard to find the direction
you are going in? Are your colors too monochromatic and you need
another color in order to finish?

Though you are troubleshooting, you are close to finishing and that is a great feat. Many people stop short. I agree with you that you are a finisher and I am excited to hear about your finished project.
