Celebrating Skin for Every Generation

With Mother’s Day right around the corner I thought this would be the perfect time to talk about skin care and genetics.  A lot of times you will hear people say, “She has her mom’s skin; isn’t she beautiful?”  But more than that you will hear “I have my mom’s skin, isn’t it horrible?!” Well, just because some things are passed down in the blood doesn’t mean they have to stay that way.

Most of the time women think their skin’s appearance is doomed because of the way their mother and grandmother’s skin was or currently is.  Today more than ever the Esthetics industry has a handle on coping with skin care problems.  The issues grandma went through with her skin, the same things you saw your mom deal with, doesn’t necessarily mean you have to deal with the same thing.   Although you may see the same patterns beginning to happen in your own skin structure, there are answers for you today that the women before you didn’t have available.  One of the keys is finding a product that has the right ingredients to repair and prevent the damage that you are dealing with.  The damages that I am speaking of can be anything from fine lines and wrinkles, medium to deep wrinkles, loose slack skin, adult acne, sun damage, Rosecea and many others.

One of the ingredients that I would like to speak about today is DMAE (dimethylaminoethanol), an ingredient that was found to help tighten and tone loose slack skin and loosen medium to deeper wrinkles.  When the skin cell structure was studied in this certain type of skin tissue they found that the skin cells were holding on to what you would call “fatty pockets” or “fatty tissues” that actually deform the skin cell’s structure.  This is most likely why your skin appears loose or slack, or filled with an abundance of medium to deeper wrinkles.  DMAE goes in and flushes those fatty pockets or fatty tissues off of the skin cells structure; allowing your skin to repair, tone and tighten itself.  That doesn’t mean it’s going to take 20 years off of your face, but you will see a significant difference in your skin and the preventative care is what is most important.

While the title of this article is celebrating skin, from every generation, let’s talk about celebrating.  Ladies, let’s not forget that we need to find something to celebrate in ourselves and the women who have gone before us.  It’s easy to get stuck on the negative issues of our skin’s appearance and our lives.  We should always take a moment to reflect on the good things that the women before have instilled in us.  Having an attitude of gratitude and thankfulness can bring change to any situation. Let’s make a commitment this month in honor of Mother’s Day, to find something to celebrate in the women that have gone before you and make it a point to share that with that woman or women.  If the person has passed, let’s share it with another woman that you are close with.  Not only will celebrating that person bring joy to her life, but it will enable you to see that this life God has given you is so very precious.  Even if it seems as though your life is over, you are still here for a reason and I encourage you to look around and see what the next step is in this journey that God has planned for you.
