In the book of Esther we find King Ahasuerus having a feast that lasted seven days. There were many guests. His wife, Queen Vashti, was celebrating with the women in one of the other royal houses. On the seventh day, the king summoned Vashti to appear before him. She refused to come. As a result she was removed from her position. A short time later the king decided to seek another queen among the virgins of the land. Virgins were brought in from all over his kingdom. The ladies prepared for their time before the king for 12 months. They went through many beauty rituals. When Esther went before the king she followed the eunuch's directions and wore what he told her to wear. She impressed the king and he made her queen.
Oftentimes we think it does not matter how we look. We might say, “People need to look at my heart.” Unfortunately, God looks at the heart and man looks at the outward appearance. It is important for us to look the best we can. The virtuous woman clothed her family in scarlet and wore silk and purple. She obviously wore the best she could. We have to remember that we represent God. Our desire should be to glorify Him in everything we do.
I hope what you see and read in this section will help you become all God made you to be.
