DECEMBER 2011
Christmas
is a highlight of our year. We enjoy the closeness of family; people
you have grown up with, walked with, played with, and even at times
fought with. When at Christmas, we all come
together to celebrate the birth of KING JESUS, we are blessed and
excited to have these special relationships with people that we “live
our lives with”! You watch your siblings graduate, your children,
nephews and nieces getting taller, and your parents become more
precious to you. The giving of gifts becomes a precious expression of your love and appreciation for each of them.
Not only do we have a natural family, we are the family of God!
John 1:11-13 (AMP) But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name--
Mark has been reading this scripture to us for the past week. There is so much here...
1 John 5:1-3 (NLT) Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too. We know we love God’s children if we love God and obey his commandments. Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome.
When we receive Jesus as Lord of our lives, we become part of God’s family!
Romans 8:15-17 (NKJV) For
you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you
received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The
Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of
God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with
Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
Luke 15:18-20 tells of the lost son that came to his senses and RETURNED TO HIS FATHER! We return to our Heavenly Father by returning to HIS WORD and doing it.
Malachi 3:7(AMP) Even from the days of your fathers you have turned aside from My ordinances and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts...
Return
to God, even in the hidden areas of your heart! We are part of God’s
house, our Father’s house is a house of prayer! Mark 11:17 says, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations’.
When we return to Him, we prostrate ourselves, give up our preconceived
ideas and humble ourselves to HIM. JESUS IS LORD OF ALL!
So
many precious people have been mislead and deceived by the devil. They
have not had the privilege of the Word of God been sown into their
hearts. The devil’s main purpose is to steal the Word of God (Mark 4) so that God’s crown creation will be powerless. Pray and ask the Lord of the harvest to raise up laborers!
Matthew 9:37-38 (MSG) When he looked out over the crowds, his heart broke. So confused and aimless they were, like sheep with no shepherd. "What a huge harvest!" he said to his disciples. "How few workers! On your knees and pray for harvest hands!"
Be a laborer to your family, neighbors, friends and associates. Share the good news!
Ephesians 5:1-3(NKJV) Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.
And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us,
an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
Extend the family of GOD! Offer your life and the life of God within you to others around you this Christmas! JESUS is the WORD, the WORD IS LIFE!
Celebrate JESUS!
