Monthly Meditation:
The Father Tenderly Loves
Me...
“The Father Himself,
tenderly loves and cares for me.” This is a scripture I
have meditated on for years and often you hear people say that God
loves them, but I would venture to say that we do not grasp how much Our
Father God loves us. This month I want to give you a picture of what
that means…..
First things
first – We are created in the image and likeness of our Father. We
have His nature according to Genesis 1:27. It is just like that with
our own children. We see ourselves in them because they came from us.
One translation says we have His nature. What a powerful thought! My
nature is like my Father’s!
Our Father thinks about us all the time. Psalm
139:17 tells us that God’s thoughts about us are precious and
innumerable! They cannot be counted!
Our Father is ahead of us and behind us. He
is always with us and He puts His hand of blessing on our heads. (Psalm
139:5) Did someone ever put their hand on you and speak something good?
Our Father constantly does that to us.
The plans our Father has for us are to prosper us, give
us hope and a future. He will not harm us. So many of
us have had earthly fathers who harmed us, but God will never do
anything to harm us. He has a wonderful future for us. We just need to
put our trust in Him. (Jer. 29:11-13)
Zephaniah 3:17 is a great depiction of how much God
loves us. It says He is with us. He is mighty to save.
He delights in us. He calms all our fears and He rejoices over us with
singing. I sing to my grandson a lot. He loves it. It makes him smile
and laugh. As I sing to him, he knows I delight in him. It calms him and
we get to rejoice together. He knows I love him. Our father in heaven
does the same thing to us. Listen. Let Him calm all your fears.
Our rest can only be found in our Father, (Ps.
62:1). There something peaceful about having your parent(s) around. It
brings a stability to children that is not there when the parents are
not present. As soon as they come in the door, we breathed a sigh of
relief because we know everything is all right. This is why the true
fulfillment of our emotions is in God. Nothing or no one else can fill
our emotional void.
Our
Father is our shepherd, so we lack no good thing, (Psalm
23:1). What a profound statement! Sheep lack nothing when their
shepherd is nearby. The shepherd takes care of them completely. Our
Father takes care of us exceeding abundantly above all we could ask or
imagine. (Eph. 1:17-18).
This is just a small sampling of how
much our Father God loves us because God is love and He is infinite. We
will spend eternity discovering His love for us. I encourage you to
purchase my new confession CD on the Father’s Love so you can have a
greater understanding of God’s love for you.
